This ebonized red oak and sugar maple high table is 42″ tall and is designed to be used with 30″ tall stools, not chairs. One often sees something like this in a restaurant or pub but it works perfectly in the kitchen.
The central stretcher is attached with two bolts so that it can be removed when and if the table needs to be moved to another room – normally one tips a table on its side and manouevres the legs through the door.
The ebonized process chemically colours the wood deep below the surface, working with the oak’s naturally high tannin, meaning the colour will not rub off with use and bangs. The sugar maple is extremely hard so that it can withstand heavy use, and provides a nice contrast to the dark base.
Top coated with a wax-oil designed for finishing wood floors, so you know that it is both durable and easy to repair if damaged.
