Every piece that I produce is customized to meet your specific needs and tastes. I therefore insist on speaking to every potential client, either by telephone or email, to verify the requirements before any money exchanges hands. Even if ordering a stool or chair, I want to be sure that we are both completely confident and satisfied with the particulars before building begins. We can explore delivery and estimated shipping costs at this time.
Ordering an existing design, such as a Windsor chair or Meaford stool? We still need to discuss heights, wood species, live edge or epoxy infill, finish, and delivery options. Once we are happy, I will send a confirmatory email. Your 40% non-refundable deposit is considered acceptance of the project details and terms and I will then enter your project in the work sequence. I will provide an approximate delivery date. Any outstanding balance is due immediately upon or before delivery, or before shipment.
Looking for something entirely unique to you? Built-in book shelving, stand alone furniture (beds, tables, credenzas, etc)? We need to chat so I have a sense of what you want in terms of scale, complexity, functionality, and materials. I will then provide an Estimate based on those discussions. With that price in mind, you can then decide to proceed with the planning process or stop.
If you chose to proceed, we will refine the initial plan, develop a more accurate price (Quote), and produce a scaled drawing. This step will come at a fee, usually about 5-10% of the estimated price, depending on the complexity of the piece and the time taken to get this far.
At this point, if you chose to proceed with the project a 40% non-refundable deposit will be required to be entered in the production schedule and allow work to begin. The deposit signifies your acceptance of the project details. The outstanding balance will be due immediately upon delivery / final installation. Terms are cash, eTransfer, or bank draft. No cheques are accepted. Credit cards can be used for this last step, but the associated service fees (credit card vendor fees, the cost of Points, Money Back, etc) will be added to the final bill.
Because items are always custom, I do not give refunds or exchanges. I always endeavour to keep delivery costs to a minimum but shipping is not free. If there is a problem with manufacturing, we will discuss possible solutions. As everything is hand made, hand shaped, and hand finished, you must expect (and likely want) slight variations and imperfections.
All prices are quoted in Canadian dollars and HST will be applied, as required (Canadian orders). Shipping will vary by item but will often be either via Canada Post/US Mail or UPS.
