Where comfort and beauty intersect

This pair of 24″ high Meaford stools is absolutely unique. I never tire of crafting such comfortable stools from highly figured wood, in this case walnut.

The natural beauty of the wood can sometimes be augmented by the use of clear or coloured epoxy. Here, the use of clear epoxy allowed me to retain all of the lighter sapwood in the seat and then extend the seat into thin air.

The visible tops of the tapered and wedged legs not only add significant strength to the stool, but also to the beauty and character of the seats.
